All shafts are made from aluminum and are capped with an impact resistant T-handle. The Basic is a simple collapsible shovel with detachable shaft. The Regular shovel features a telescoping shaft that adds an extra foot to the shovel length. The Deluxe shovel has a telescoping shaft that houses a 30cm snow/wood saw inside attached to the T-handle. The new Pro version telescopes as well but houses a longer, stiffer and more aggressive snow saw. The final link in a successful avalanche rescue lies in your ability to rapidly dig your partner out of the debris. An inferior shovel is of no use to you. That is why, along with your SOS shovel scoop, you will need an SOS ergonomically engineered shovel handle. Each handle is designed with an off set “T” handle for maximum strength shorter collapse length, and longer extendable length.
